How does the enhancer improve image quality?+
It runs a multi-stage restoration pipeline: an edge-preserving bilateral filter removes noise and JPEG artifacts, gray-world white balance fixes colour casts, Lanczos resampling upscales without blocky edges, CLAHE (adaptive histogram equalization) recovers local detail and contrast, and unsharp masking restores sharpness. Combined, these produce results close to modern AI enhancers.
Can it fix a blurry or out-of-focus photo?+
Yes. The 'Restore Blurry' preset uses strong, larger-radius unsharp masking together with local-contrast recovery to reconstruct soft edges. It can't invent detail that was never captured, but it makes soft photos look noticeably crisper and more focused.
Does it make text in screenshots and scans readable?+
The 'Document / Text' preset sharpens fine strokes, boosts local contrast, and flattens uneven lighting so the background turns clean and white — which makes small or faint text in screenshots and scanned pages much easier to read.
Can I upscale a low-resolution image?+
Yes. Choose 2×, 3×, or 4× upscaling. The image is enlarged with high-quality Lanczos resampling and then sharpened, so enlarged images stay crisp instead of looking soft or pixelated.
Are my images uploaded to a server?+
